Ingredients
- 150 grams of pork or beef mince
- Half an onion, grated
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp parsley
- 2 garlic cloves , minced
- 2 tbsp Parmigiano reggiano or parmesan Salt & pepper to taste
For the sauce
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Half an onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup of Peat’d Original tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 3 tsp dried Italian herb mix (parsley, basil, thyme, oregano) Salt & pepper to taste
Method
Step 1
Add all the meatball ingredients in a bowl, mix well. Measure out a heaped tablespoon and roll lightly to form a ball, repeat with remaining mixture.
Step 2
Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a pan over medium high heat. Add the meatballs and brown all over for about 3 to 4 minutes then carefully transfer them onto a plate afterwards.
Step 3
For the sauce, sauté the onion and garlic for 2 to 3 minutes until translucent. Add the Peat’d Original tomato sauce and the remaining ingredients. Bring to a simmer and cook the meatballs for 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally. Put the meatballs on top of your bread of choice then finish it off with grated parmesan.
